The Sonic Alchemist Transforming Afro-Brazilian Rhythms into Global Beats
Kboko's beats blend the roots of organic Afro-Brazilian music with digital electronic influences, drawing inspiration from afrodiasporic sounds from around the world.
As a percussionist, he has had the incredible opportunity to play and record with various artists from different parts of the world, including Guy One (Ghana), Alemayehu Eshete (Ethiopia), Idris Ackamoor (USA), Polyversal Souls (Germany), Karol Konká (Brazil), Xênia França (Brazil), Yarah Bravo (Germany), Sera Kalo (USA/GER), MODHA (Berlin), LIONS DEN SOUNDSYSTEM (Berlin), Juju Rogers (USA), among others.
In addition to his musical journey, Kboko is an active DJ in the Berlin scene, having dropped his beats at almost all the major clubs in the city and across Europe. This year, he stood out as a key performer at the Nyege Nyege Festival in Paris, where he delivered an epic set alongside the Berlin-based collective Sonic Interventions.
Beyond the music world, Kboko is dedicated to social projects involving refugees, especially children and young people, using his music as a therapeutic tool.
His sonic palette, an essential element in crafting his beats, includes a fusion of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, subsonic basslines, heavy kicks, synths, samplers, and live instruments.
